A TRANQUIL LOCATION

Riverside View is in an outstanding and tranquil location in an elevated position above the valley of the River Esk and by the side of a Grade II listed railway viaduct.

Whitby itself is just a short walk or drive away where you will be able to meander in the cobbled streets of the old town, climb the 199 steps to the abbey or stroll along the piers that lead to the entrance to the port. The beautiful harbour, surrounded by fisherman’s cottages, provides a natural setting for the yachts and it is visited on a regular basis by Captain Cook’s replica flagship, HM Bark Endeavour.

The North Yorkshire Moors are within easy reach and have been a National Park for the last 50 years with over 2,000km of paths and tracks. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway travels the 18 miles from Pickering to Grosmont with a station in Goathland, more famously known as Aidensfield in the TV series, Heartbeat. From 2007 the railway will also extend its services into Whitby itself.

Conveniently Located

Conveniently located close to the other coastal villages of Robin Hoods Bay, Staithes and Runswick Bay. There are several outstanding walks virtually on the doorstep including the old railway line between Whitby and Scarborough.
